Water Balloons

After Banana Splits we needed to run some sugar off the kids before bed time. They had recieved water balloons from their friend Ethan's birthday party. I stayed safely on the porch behind the camera! The kids had a great time and kept Dad on his toes. They warmed up in a hot bath tub and snuggled down in some pjs. I'm sure it's what they would call a perfect day!

Banana Splits

After a wonderful day of putting on a yard sale, going to a friends birthday, and a BBQ...we introduced Banana splits to the kids. I think there eyes were all a lot bigger than their stomachs. They each piled on the syrup, sprinkles and whip topping! Lots of fun and lots of mess for mom to clean up later. Life is perfect with little moments that you store for happy moments you can smile about later.

We went to my brothers cabin for Mother's day weekend. We spent two days playing hard and having so much fun. We all got to ride quads and dirt bikes and had lots of adventures. Josh and the boys worked hard at carving a heart into a tree for me for mothers day. My brother and his fiance Katie got me flowers and a card and the kids got me a card too! The kids roasted a lot of marshmellows and hot dogs. Silas caught a lizard and held on to it a all day, when it was time pack up we told him he needed to let it go or it might die. He opened the container and instead of it running away it climbed up onto his hand and stayed on his arm for about 10 minutes! We were all in awe!! Silas said, "aw he likes me!" He was duped the lizard keeper! The kids did lots of hunting too. They built a cool fort and hopes its still there next time. Zion decided he wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle, we were all very hesitant about letting him but if you know Zion you know he is one determined boy! He climbed up without a fear and rode away! WOW! What a cool moment that was! Malakai had a blast on his quad he had a couple crashes and loved the aspect of mudding and tearing up the ground. I am blessed with an amazing brother who has met a beautiful girl. I am excited that we can be friends and sisters too! What a perfect way to celebrate mothers day!

Zion was so cute at the fishing derby! I don't think his hook stayed in the water for longer than 30 seconds at a time. I think he caught the smallest fish record! He took home a bat and ball for his prize.

Silas was absolutely thrilled at the Zillah fishing derby! He was so excited to get his hands on his fish. He was dissapointed that we insisted on releasing it. He wanted to take it home and eat it. Silas is the ultimate outdoor kid. He won a batman fishing pole too!

This past Friday we participated in the Zillah kids fishing derby. Malakai caught a rainbow trout! He was so cute! He had to wait until the younger kids were done to finally get to fish! He had a plan though, he knew just where he needed to be...and right he was! He won some super fun outdoor toys!

Moms and Muffins

I had a very special day with Silas at his Preschool. Silas and his friends were so adorable! They sang a couple songs with super cute hand gestures! He stole the show when he ran up and down the singing line tickling all his friends when it was time to tickle your neighbor in the animal song! Of course I cried! ;) Then he served me and his two grandmas with juice and muffins he made in class. He made a very special gift for mom that I had been hearing about all week. He also had made tissue flowers that he was able to give me and each grandma. Silas has a beautiful spirit, he is strong and determined and so much like his dad. I am a blessed mom to have been given this beautiful child.

We talked to Malakai last week about how sometimes in sports you have to scarifice your body. Especially when you are the smallest dude on the team with lots to prove. Last night he showed his grit. He was playing pitcher and he caught a ball to his stomach straight off the bat! He did great, recovered the ball and threw to first. I think it was his first glimpse about what the cost of sports really is! :)

Malakai had a great game last night. He got to play pitcher, first and catcher! He was thrilled to get to play 1st base for the first time of the season. I held my breath of course hoping his attention would hold long enough for it! But he did great. He struck out twice but got a double on his 2nd hit. He doesn't quite understand all that yet, but he has found that baseball is his favorite sport.

Zion lives for the day that he can play sports like his big brother. He is Malakai's #1 fan! Zion definetly loves that snack part of the games. He kept sneaking Grandma Jude's sunflower seads from her. My pack in one hand and hers in the other! He had lots of fun playing with the other kids or rather trying to keep up with the other kids! ;)

Silas Ezra

At Malakai's game last night Silas and Zion were actaully clean and looking cute so I figured was a good time to snap some pictures for the blog. Silas pretended to roast his peanut he found and make "pretend" fires. Thank goodness Chief was more focused on the game then his 4 year old grandson's make believe games, its tough having a fire chief for a grandpa! :)

The kids weren't quite ready to call it a day after the livestock show. So to the park we went. Josh had a knack for super underdogs so the kids had a lot of fun wearing dad out. Lots of smiles and lots of good times for Malakai, Silas and Zion. I think I did feel some guilt out of missing soccer practice though! ;)

Toppenish Livestock Show

One tradition I hope to pass on to my kids is participating in 4h and FFA. We decided to play hooky from soccer practice and take the kids to see the Livestock show in Toppenish. I have high hopes that my kids will want to participate raising and showing animals at fairs. Some of my best memories are with my animals. We went the night before the sale, and I could see the looks on many of the participant faces that they were dreading the next day, the sale. The kids had a wonderful time playing with the animals and enjoying a bit of country life. The evening was filled with questions about raising animals and showing them. Malakai will be able to start soon, I am very excited to be able to pass the tradition on to my kids.

Coach Denny started with "Why does the world need wrestlers." The world needs wrestlers because this is one of the only sports ever that there is no time outs, there is no team to protect you or help you. When you step on the mat its all about you the wrestler. When your arm is raised in victory at the end of a match it's the best feeling in the world that you did alone. Much like real life. The struggles in like are much like what a wrestler faces on the mat. Malakai has tasted defeat and victory, both of which pushed him to work harder and want it more. Prosser Stampede wrestlers had their end of the year party and award ceremony at Shy's pizza. Malakai has built special friendships with his fellow wrestlers. He was presented with a medal that only shows that he is a champion and it's not only mom that thinks so!
