There is something boys never grow out of and thats playing in the dirt! Of course it starts with making mud pies but always later turns into mudding and 4x4'ing! I figured I would extend the life of my cooking utensils and buy a "mud pie kitchen" for Zion's birthday. The kids have been nagging me to put it together since Sunday. So while Silas and Malakei were at school and I braved the task minus two helpers I tore into the box. Zion had a cup of water and couple dirt clods from the back yard all ready while I was still trying to make sense of the directions. But I prevailed! When Malakai got home from school we put the kitchen in the yard and let them go at it. A great time they had! I think all the mud pie baking got them hungry so out came snacks and chips. I treasure moments like these when my kids are small and enjoy the simple things in life. I will probably even miss the day when my kitchen spoons can't be found in garden!

Zion turned 3 yesterday! The little guy had an amazing day! He started the day with his favorite breakfast which is donuts and milk, white milk to be exact! He recieved lots of phone calls and was quite poplular! After changing his mind 3 times he decided on the Cars theme for his Party. He had an adorable cake, the room was decorated with streamers and gold cups for all the racing fans! We rented the swimming pool and conference room at a hotel in Zillah. Zion recieved lots of stuff! He got a mud pie kitchen, fishing pole, tools and tool bag, a scooter and lots lots more! The kids got to swim and relax in the hot tub after a hard hour of partying. Zion started swimming on his own and was strutting his stuff in the deap end for some family.

After his Party, we went to church and Silas and Zion attend Rainbow group and Malakai started Royal Rangers. Zion found out he shares the same birthday as his Rainbow leader! It was a great day. Of course it was bittersweet for mom, my baby says, "I'm not a baby any more! I'm a big Boy!" From terrible twos to troublesome threes here we come!

Malakai, Silas' class attended Griz's Farm at Prosser High School. It was Silas' helper day so I was unable to go with Malakai's class. Zion was able to go with me and "practice" for Preschool next year! The kids had a great time and enjoyed seeing all the animals. They each had different favorites. Malakai loved the kid goat, silas loved the baby chickens and Zion loved the piglets.

Malakai is the smallest kid on his baseball team, but he plays with the heart of a champion. I am so proud of him and the way he is towards other kids. When I walk him to school I get stopped several times by people telling me what a sweet kid he is. I am blessed with an amazing first son.

Soccer Game

Malakai had his first soccer game tonight. It was a great experience for him! It was really cold and we didn't win! But the kids had fun and I think are looking forward to a great season!

Malakai has his first Cal Ripkin game tonight, Prosser vs Zillah. We are pretty sure Prosser won! Luke did great too! His second year of Cal Ripkin is off to a great start!! There is something special about seeing your son suit up in home town colors. He played outfield and second base. He struck out his first two times at bat and his third time up he hit out to 2nd base and managed to score! Of course Josh and both choked up watching him run across home plate! Call us sentimental, but we are so proud of our kids!

We were able to take a mini vacation to Seaside Or. We cramned into the bug and made the best of the 5 hour drive. The weather was interesting to say the least, the locals would say typical coastal weather. Malakai woke at 5 am the first morning there so excited to get to the beach. So Malakai and I grabbed some coffee and went in search of some sand and waves. Our day was packed with Beach time, bumper cars, video games and feeding the seals! I think we all enjoyed the seals the most. We managed to squeeze in some swimming at the hotel and ordered in Pizza too. Josh and Silas were able to sample some shark tacos. Day two, we checked out and hit the road! Well almost, until 20 miles outside Seaside I realized I left my phone in the Hotel room....so back we went to Seaside! We spent the second day driving along the coast stopping at Cannon Beach to see haystack rock and of course touring Tillamook cheese factory too. When we got home the kids were like, "whats next!" Crazy kids! :)
